'Brick & Basil Pizzeria's journey began with a simple aspiration: to bring genuine Neapolitan pizza to London. Established by the Johnson family in 1985, our pizzeria started as a cozy, family-run place with recipes passed down through generations.
Michael Johnson, our founder, acquired pizza-making expertise during travels across Italy, learning from master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. Upon returning to the UK, she was determined to recreate the magic of real Italian pizza using time-honored methods and top-tier ingredients.
What began as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has blossomed into a cherished local landmark, yet our dedication to quality and authenticity has never wavered. We still employ wood-fired oven techniques, prepare dough fresh daily, and source the finest ingredients available.
Today, 'Brick & Basil Pizzeria' remains a family-owned operation, with the second generation of the Johnson family now guiding our motivated team. While we’ve adopted some modern innovations, the core of our business remains unchanged: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
